Synopsis:

From IMDb: “A self-centered realtor enlists the help of his neighbor when he’s suddenly left in charge of the granddaughter he never knew existed until his estranged son drops her off at his home.”

Review: A bland, regurgitated poster design that highlights the stars, but does little else but sit on the wall and get forgotten when the next interchangeable design goes in its place.

(#2-#4) Either poster designers have become the cheapest bastards on the planet or studios just don’t care how they sell their second and third-tier romantic comedies. As evidence, the first design referenced above fits firmly in that mold; however, the subsequent three are all feature varying degrees of crappiness. The Spanish language design is mostly like the first, except by eliminating the backgrounds and replacing them with gender-friendly colors, they’ve exposed the cheapness of poor Photoshop design. The third barely avoids that fate and sticks to the classic two-panel, top-and-bottom motif that works only so far. The fourth design is more graphically transitioned, avoiding the cheapness of the second design, but still celebrating just how bad some of these designers are at using Photoshop.

Review: Admittedly, I laughed more than I expected too. Michael Douglas has his charms even if they weren’t used well in Last Vegas last year. Still, that he’s the funniest thing about this trailer and that Diane Keaton is almost relegated to non-existent support makes one wonder if there will be an expected romance between the two leads or if it will be just another fish-out-of-water aging misanthrope story. Not that the romance would be uncharacteristic of this genre either.
