Synopsis:

From IMDb: “The aristocratic sisters Charlotte and Caroline both fall in love with the controversial young writer and hothead Friedrich Schiller. Defying the conventions of their time, the sisters decide to share their love with Schiller. What begins playfully, almost as a game among the three of them, soon turns serious as it leads to the end of a pact.”

Poster: B- / C+

Review: (#1) The first design is a more traditional costume drama style that establishes the characters and settings, though not quite the romantic interest or rivalry. (#2) The second certainly is more emotionally engaging for those who’ve seen the trailer, but it’s drab, colorless style won’t appeal very broadly.

Trailer: B+

Review: As far as traditional storytelling and period costume drama elements, the trailer showcases it all. There are twists, turns, recriminations, and enough setup and buildup to entice fans of the style.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
