From IMDb: “Set in Ireland during the Great Famine, the drama follows an Irish Ranger who has been fighting for the British Army abroad, as he abandons his post to reunite with his family. Despite experiencing the horrors of war, he is shocked by the famine’s destruction of his homeland and the brutalization of his people and his family.”

Review: (#1) The grainy color scheme works, but the blocky title, lazy layout, and indistinct images don’t make for a very compelling design. (#2) The poses feel structurally sound, but there’s a lot of dead space and overly staged layout feels off. (#3) Combining a bit of both prior posters without looking derivative, the color scheme is poorly chosen and the structure feels unbalanced.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: Does every film about one man’s rebellion have to feel like a deviation on the themes of Braveheart. Here we have a haunted man witnessing his son’s murder and embarks on a crusade to rid his homeland of its occupiers. The trailer pushes forward predictably and without rousing the audience to attendance.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
