Review: (#1) An appropriate and modestly creepy design. Tyler Perry’s team certainly has a nose for strong designs.

(#2) Cheesy is as cheesy does and considering this film’s major characteristics, it should come as no surprise that the trailer has a lot of cheesy horror elements mixed in and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

(#3) Intimidated? Maybe. Scurred? No. (#4) It’s an interesting design for the film, but too limited in terms of color. (#5) One poor decision leads to another and the white glasses almost destroy it all. (#6) A psychedelic poster that features a lot of interesting details, but is also overly garish. (#7) A nail-tipped bat in the hands of a raving lunatic. Are we supposed to be scared of the killers in the film or of Madea herself? Probably a little of both.

Trailer Rating: B- / B

Review: (#1) If you’re familiar with the original, this will be well worth your time, but if you aren’t, there are enough humorous elements to make you want to go back and check out the previous effort.

(#2) The more I see of this film, the more I’m actually excited to check it out. Tyler Perry’s films haven’t always appealed to me, with a couple of exceptions, but I’m so interested in this (thanks to the well designed trailer), that I’m putting the prior film into my queue so I can consider giving the sequel a go this fall.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
