Review: I almost forget what the poster looks like every time I try to remember it. That’s not a benefit.

Review: (#1) What you loved about the original seems to be woefully absent from its far-removed sequel. Sure, Michelle Yeoh is back, but she’s given too little to do and the action, while somewhat interesting, is ultimately unfulfilling.

(#2) After perhaps not feeling the prior trailer served the film and the fans of the original well, this second trailer does a much better job convincing those unimpressed with the prior effort that it might not be as bad as expected. Yeoh has a lot more to do, but the production still feels like it could be a bit of a disappointment.

Oscar Prospects:

The original film was a big Oscar contender and won a handful. This film is coming out far too long after the original and may not be nearly as impressive as the Ang Lee film was.
