Release Date:

April 4, 2014

Synopsis:

From IMDb: “After spending 12 years in prison for keeping his mouth shut, notorious safe-cracker Dom Hemingway is back on the streets of London looking to collect what he’s owed.”

Poster: B-

Review: I’m really not sure why the baboon imagery, but the trailer certainly suggests that the title character is little more than one. It’s a quirky design that may generate interest, but probably won’t.

Trailer: C+

Review: Where the makers of the film are going with it is completely absent from the trailer. It suggests perhaps that the film is about a father seeking redemption, but then the IMDb description suggests something entirely different. This is one of those trailers that creates too much confusion and is too easily dismissed.

Oscar Prospects:

I’m sure there will be discussions of Jude Law earning an Oscar nomination. However, I doubt the early release date is going to make that a feasible end-run.
