Review: (#1) This gorgeous poster captures a black-and-white view of a scene from the film, giving us a beautiful vista from which to gain some measure of interest. (#2) As opposed to the prior design, this one gets close up, but does so without being particularly engaging.

Trailer Rating: B-

Review: There’s a slight touch of formulaic banality in the trailer, but Francois Ozon’s involvement should put some of those concerns to rest, at least if you know who he is and what work he’s done in the past. The film seems very traditional and also feels like it wants to reminisce about a past time period that often gets a rosy treatment without a brief suggestion of something deeper.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
