Synopsis:

From IMDb: “Martin, an ex-Parisian well-heeled hipster passionate about Gustave Flaubert who settled into a Norman village as a baker, sees an English couple moving into a small farm nearby. Not only are the names of the new arrivals Gemma and Charles Bovery, but their behavior also seems to be inspired by Flaubert’s heroes.”

Poster: D / D+ (2) / C-

Review: The four designs released for this film are exercises in futility, none of them creating unique or exciting commentaries on the film that they advertise. The sole English-language design (#1) is the worst offender of them all.

Trailer: B-

Review: Building off a classic story by Gustav Flaubert, the trailer takes every moment it can to reference Madame Bovary, but without giving the audience a clear understanding of why that’s important.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
