Release Date:

Synopsis:

From IMDb: “An inept police officer must protect the widow of a drug dealer from criminals and dirty policemen.”

Poster: D / F / C+ (2)

Review: (#1) This isn’t that funny or even appealing. I’m not quite sure how this is supposed to sell the film. After all, Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara aren’t exactly big box office draws. (#2) A simple, forgettable placeholder.

(#3 & #4) This pair of character posters aren’t inventively designed, but they are competent enough to give the film some appeal.

Trailer: C+ / C+

Review: (#1) There are some modestly funny elements in this trailer, but it’s predicated on a lot of terrible stereotypes. The couple at the theater when I first saw this basically evoked my opinion about the film when they agreed that it looked like the Sandra Bullock / Melissa McCarthy cop comedy The Heat. It’s even similar in terms of temperature.

(#2) Previous impressions remain. While there are some funny bits in the trailers, the film simply exists to string together stereotypes that need smashing, but remain hopelessly ingrained.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
