Review: The concept is solid, but the execution is mediocre.

Review: It’s difficult to understand why you would take a film that almost certainly has Oscar intentions and release a trailer that is so slow-moving. While the film might actually be, you can’t entice people to the box office that way. The performances don’t look particularly inspired, except for Steve Carell’s, so who knows what the film’s chances are. The trailer needs to be better, though.

Oscar Prospects:

It could be a major Oscar player now that Richard Linklater is no longer an Oscar pariah, but the trailer doesn’t inspire faith in its chances.
