Review: What a wasted opportunity this was. A cheap, cheesy evocation of familiarity without a sense of design aesthetic, at least not one that hasn’t been done before and far better in all cases.

Review: What could have felt like a cheap, tacky attempt to build on the legend of Lizzie Borden, this trailer suggests something entirely different exploring the potential of what Lizzie’s life would have been after the death of her father. The trailer does a tremendous job giving the audience the impression that this will be a film like few others and that’s a good thing.

Oscar Prospects:

While this film doesn’t seem like it’s up the Academy’s alley, the stars are and that could be enough to give the film ample consideration, at least from critics if not from the Academy.
