Review: (#1) For fans of the original film, the overalls will be a nice visual reminder. The giant title will be, too.

(#2) The cast, present and future, come together for one design even if it looks tackily PhotoShopped. (#3) More of the same from the prior design, but more spread out and thus with more wasted space.

(#4) A vapid, dull background and equally tacky foreground. This may please fans, but it won’t entice anyone else.

Trailer Rating: B- / B-

Review: (#1) There are two sets of people who will be interested. Fans of the original movie and fans of ABBA’s music. The trailer should do little to dissuade either of those groups from abandoning the unnecessary sequel (prequel?). There are more young, attractive people in this version, which might bring in some younger audiences. And one final thing. Cher channeling Lady Gaga’s look is most bizarre.

(#2) There’s not much more interesting in this trailer than in the previous and it certainly won’t convert new fans while simultaneously pleasing old ones.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
