Review: (#1 & #2) This pair of character posters present the rivals in contrasting shades. While both are meant to represent paintings of the monarchs, the blue one featuring Saoirse Ronan comes off looking the best.

(#3) Using the primary colors, the first two posters released were of each of Mary and Elizabeth and this yellow design combines both completing the set in a strong, albeit uninspired way. (#4) The background details add more to this design than the previous as it adds a bit of depth. The design still doesn’t excite, but it’s a nice step up.

Trailer Rating: B / B

Review: (#1) There’s a fiery undercurrent to this trailer. If it doesn’t quite reach it’s full potential, it’s not for lack of trying as the leads are luminous, especially Saoirse Ronan, who seems to be acting circles around Margot Robbie.

(#2) The events depicted in the film continue to look interesting, but there’s nothing much new here, so we are left wondering what the purpose of this new trailer was except to extol the virtues of critical praise.

Oscar Prospects:

This is likely to be one of the major Oscar contenders with both Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie contenders for Best Actress.
