Release Date:

Synopsis:

From IMDb: “A teenage filmmaker befriends a classmate with cancer.”

Poster: C+ / C / B- / C / C-

Review: (#1) Not entirely original, but stands out easily in a field of familiar and mediocre designs. However, it’s still missing some kind of pizzazz or excitement to make it attractive to unfamiliar audiences.

(#2-#5) None of the new designs are particularly exciting, though the drawing design (#3) is at least compelling.

Trailer: B+

Review: A sweet, sincere, droll film that seems to capture the essence of indie cinema. At least that’s the impression the audience should get from this trailer. It looks at once like it’s part of both the indie scene and the broader populist arena.

Oscar Prospects:

It’s hard to say if this film will appeal to Oscar voters. The trailer makes the film look rather wonderful, so perhaps it is and that can overcome the fact that it’s teen-centric.
