Synopsis:

From IMDb: “When Rodney Baze mysteriously disappears and law enforcement fails to follow through, his older brother, Russell, takes matters into his own hands to find justice.”

Review: An overly simplified design that at least highlights the nature of a furnace with the smoldering, air-borne bits. That isn’t enough.

Trailer: B- / C

Review: Christian Bale plays every angry, bitter and resentful character he’s ever played. There’s nothing particularly engaging there and in spite of featuring some very talented actors (Bale included), the entire film feels like a direct-to-video exercise in rudimentary filmmaking.

Expanding a bit further on what is presented in the first trailer, the second tries to ratchet up the action and make this seem like a first-rate thriller. Without changing the premise, it might work, but it’s not a film that looks particularly interesting.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
