Review: (#1) Fans of the original film will no doubt see this and want to be a part of the remake. (#2) Creepy and familiar to those who’ve seen the original, but it isn’t otherwise impressive. (#3) This is a creative take on a familiar scene from the original, which will do more to sell the film than the trailer will.

Trailer: C

Review: Fans of the original film will no doubt see this and wonder why they are even bothering to remake it. The original is a perfect little horror mystery, much of which seems to have been lost in this modern translation.

Oscar Prospects:

The original film received three Oscar nominations for Original Score, Sound Effects Editing and Visual Effects. Suffice it to say the remake won’t replicate.
