Review: (#1) While it might be a little less fun, having a series of portraits-within-portraits of a vain woman would be completely fitting here. Barring that, this is a strong visual conveyance of the film’s central figure, which is all you can really ask for with a comedy.

(#2) It might tell us a bit about the character featured in the film, but it’s not particularly funny or enlightening.

Trailer Rating: B- / B

Review: (#1) As often is the case, Melissa McCarthy’s films put forward a cheesy vibe that is homely and pleasing. That the film features an almost all-female cast gives the film a lot of significance in McCarthy’s recent trend towards effective feminist entertainment.

(#2) With a few more expletives in evidence, this trailer gives the audience plenty of humor and mocking verve while hewing closely to the prior trailer, which only highlights why the red band trailer is better.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
