Review: (#1) Garish is the worst thing about this poster, though the cheap, unrealistic background is a close second. It still sells the film as best as it could all things considered.

(#2) This German design isn’t far removed from the prior, which means it lacks a compelling backdrop, though will sell the film as well as any will expect.

(#3-#4) The close-up posters tend to make the dull backgrounds seem less annoying, but the cheaply-fonted taglines make for a worse experience. (#5-#6) A slightly different pose of Will Farrell than of Amy Poehler doesn’t make the overall design better as these blandly-backed posters are just not interesting enough.

Trailer Rating: C+ / B

Review: (#1) There are some humorous moments in the trailer, but an there aren’t a sufficient number of them. This film has to sell to a broad demographic that’s been fairly disappointed lately and the result doesn’t look like something they’ll leap at the opportunity to see.

(#2) Making a second trailer that’s funnier than the first is a challenge. To do so with a red-band trailer is even more difficult. This one makes the film look far more interesting than it likely is.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
