From IMDb: “Stranded after a tragic plane crash, two strangers must forge a connection to survive the extreme elements of a remote snow covered mountain. When they realize help is not coming, they embark on a perilous journey across the wilderness.”

Poster Rating: C+ / C+

Review: (#1) Loosely symbolic, but well presented, this is an example of how to make an interesting design without saying enough to pique the interests of the audience.

(#2) A more favorable construction than expected, it simply evokes the film’s entire premise even if it still feels a bit dull.

Trailer Rating: C-

Review: You get the complete gist of the film’s plot from the trailer. There’s no mystery. There’s no excitement. There’s just survival. For a survival drama, a bit more excitement would be appreciated. That and it seems like little more than a simple character drama doesn’t bolster its image.

Oscar Prospects:

The film is releasing in a great place to make an Oscar run, but Kate Winslet has buzz for a different film and Idris Elba doesn’t look to be doing anything spectacular in the trailer. Still, both could be up for consideration if their other work doesn’t pan out.
