Release Date:

January 17, 2014

Synopsis:

From IMDb: “Surly, a curmudgeon, independent squirrel is banished from his park and forced to survive in the city. Lucky for him, he stumbles on the one thing that may be able to save his life, and the rest of park community, as they gear up for winter – Maury’s Nut Store.”

Trailer: B- / C+

Review: The first design is less about action and more about desire. It also makes the characters look cuter than the second design. There isn’t too much difference between the two, neither makes the film look too much more interesting and both have the kid-friendly aura that will help kids (and parents) decide if they want to waste their time.

Trailer: C / D+

Review: (#1) The first trailer is almost a teaser, it establishes some of the premise of the film, but doesn’t hammer the nail in, leaving a friendly and warm feeling in the viewer, but a feeling that doesn’t require watching the movie.

(#2) Take a few small elements of the first and blend in ill-fitting voice over work, lame humor and an overly-childish style and you have every questionable, unnecessary kids film from a minor distributor that’s likely to suck that you can think of.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
