Review: Many poster designs go for the creative and most of the time it works. Here is an example of creativity that works, but also fails. The design no doubt creative and richly detailed, but it’s devoid of context, which prevents those who haven’t seen the trailer from forming any applicable opinion about the potential of the film, which won’t help sell tickets.

Trailer: C+

Review: Getting the jump on Left Behind and blending the disaster genre with the horror genre, The Remaining doesn’t break much new ground. The first few seconds could be easily confused with another disaster film this year and the latter parts of the trailer conjure images of many similar horror films. That lack of distinctiveness might not do well with audiences looking for something fresh.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
