Review: (#1) It’s an attempt to be clever, the horseback riding figures leaving a trail of dust in its wake that just so happens to form into a skull. The colors are dull and the images faded, which won’t appeal much to those not sold by the trailer. (#2) This time, they are leaving a burning building, which they presumably set. Slightly more interesting than the other design, but still not great.

(#3) I would normally gripe about the black background, but it’s not too excessive. The issue this poster has is not with the lighting or titling, it’s with its lack of excitement or verve.

(#4-#7) These four character posters employ a strange and surreal shade of blue that make them compelling and otherworldly. If it weren’t for the utterly banal structure and balance of the posters, they might be something worth collecting.

Trailer Rating: C+ / B

Review: (#1) A haphazard trailer that hearkens back to the glory days of westerns while making it briefly clear that this is something of a comedy, which dispels some of its interesting potential.

(#2) This trailer does a solid job of establishing itself as a western in a traditional sense. It has a lot of visual details that may be of interest to fans of the genre along with a cast that will appeal to a demographic, not particularly excited about such things.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
