Synopsis:

From IMDb: “Former United States Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, discusses his career in Washington D.C. from his days as a congressman in the early 1960s to planning the invasion of Iraq in 2003.”

Poster: D+

Review: True to its subject and its tagline, this design is almost terrifying, which might be what the creators were looking for even though it won’t really matter if the documentary isn’t a horror film.

Trailer: B

Review: A documentary on Donald Rumsfeld is not something I would consider a fun subject. However, Errol Morris isn’t exactly a pedestrian filmmaker even if the trailer doesn’t provide any real impetus to see the film.

Oscar Prospects:

Errol Morris, in spite of his popularity among documentarians, has only been nominated for and won one Oscar for The Fog of War. A documentary about Donald Rumsfeld doesn’t seem like the kind of film Oscar voters would embrace.
