(September 6, 2015) New Poster (#4) / Page Redesigned

Release Date:

September 11, 2015

Synopsis:

From IMDb: “A single mother finds that things in her family’s life go very wrong after her two young children visit their grandparents.”

Poster Rating: B / C+ / C- / D

Review: (#1) Reminiscent of the design used for Fargo, this quaint down home feel is marred by dirty and bloody handprints. (#2) This is similar in tone to the first design, but a lot more simplistic/less artistic. (#3) From creative to mediocre to garden variety horror pablum.

(#4) I don’t know if this is targeted towards one particular market, but the design itself is weak, boring and lifeless. No horror here.

Trailer Rating: C

Review: Every inch of this trailer reminds me of other generic horror films about unusual situations faced by normal people. This doesn’t seem particularly scary or inventive and that’s without realizing that M. Night Shyamalan is behind it.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
