Synopsis:

From IMDb: “A homeless man tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter.”

Poster Rating: C+

Review: This is a simple design that doesn’t require a lot of embellishment, but all things considered, I don’t think many will see this and decide they need to see the film.

Trailer Rating: C

Review: This meandering trailer reveals so many details about the film’s plot that you aren’t left with much curiosity about seeing where it goes. A lack of suspense doesn’t engender excitement in your product.

Oscar Prospects:

Oren Moverman’s first film (The Messenger) netted Oscar nominations for Best Original Screenplay and Woody Harrelson as Best Supporting Actor. His second film (Rampart) received none. This time, his prospects are a little better, but Best Actor’s already shaping up to be a strong competition, which means Richard Gere’s continued attempts at an Oscar nomination are likely to fall flat.
