While it’s possible The Hobbit could hang on for a second week atop the box office chart, Into the Woods may give it a good run for its money.

Individual Commentaries

Wesley Lovell: As bad as the past Stephen Sondheim adaptations have been, I’m not exactly looking forward to Into the Woods, though Unbroken might be a better film. The limited side is also packed with big titles, Selma being the one I’m most looking forward to.
Peter J. Patrick: Oscar, here we come! The last of this year’s hopefuls make their bow.
Tripp Burton: Christmas brings a lot of eagerly awaited films, so have a great weekend at the movies!
Thomas LaTourrette: Finally, a bunch of pictures worth seeing. Being true to form, a lot of films, many of which are Oscar bait, are being released on Christmas Day. Selma sounds like the real hit movie, but I am also hoping that Into the Woods will be worth seeing. Neither Unbroken nor American Sniper seem to be living up to their hype, unfortunately.
