The likelihood of Jumanji winning a fourth week at the top of the box office charts is unlikely, especially since the Maze Runner films have all opened over $30 million and Jumanji‘s third weekend was about $20 million. Even if Death Cure underperforms, it’s unlikely to underperform to $15 million, which is what Jumanji would make if it lost 25% of its prior weekend’s tally.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The series has been entertaining enough to get me to come back for the third.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): I thought this franchise pretty much ran out of steam with the first one. Nothing in the trailer convinces me it’s going to have a re-birth.
Tripp Burton (TB): I haven’t seen any of these movies yet, and I’m not going to start with this one.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): I did not see the original, and the trailer looks so confusing that I have no desire to watch this one.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The awful trailer does this film no favors.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Looks like a whole bunch of nothing.
Tripp Burton (TB): This looks like very average horror fare.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It looks like a standard horror film of someone seeing things in a strange old hotel.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): An uber-violent animated film wouldn’t bother me, but this one doesn’t look that engaging.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Stylish looking animated gangster yarn could be interesting. It’s certainly different.
Tripp Burton (TB): This could be interesting, even if I’m not quite sure what to expect.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): There were parts of the trailer that looked appealing, but the animation is badly done and just left me cold.
