The Step Up franchise has done respectable business and I have a feeling that The Watch may be a bomb, so I give the edge to “slow and steady” in this race.

Consensus

Below is a list of what we have come to a general consensus on. The number in parens represents the percentage of our contributors who agree with the statement.

Step Up: Revolution: Unless you’re a fan of the franchise or complex modern dance routines, this probably isn’t for you.
The Watch: Has anyone really gotten excited about this yet?
Ruby Sparks: One-hit wonders or indie trendsetters? This will be the answer.

This is the first in the franchise, I don’t have anything against seeing. It looks cheesy, but at least entertaining.

Thoughts

I have no interest whatsoever in seeing this dance film sequel.

Thoughts

I know lots of people are fans of this series, but Oscar has never noticed.

Thoughts

If the cast doesn’t turn you off, then you’ll probably like it. For me, this looks like one of the biggest wastes of time so far this year.

Thoughts

A little too soon for comfort for a “comedy” about neighborhood watches after the events of the recent past.

Thoughts

Not the kind of comedy that I go for, and neither will Oscar.

Thoughts

I can’t say I’m particularly enthused about seeing it, but if it does continue to appear on Oscar’s radar, I may.

Thoughts

Could be another sleeper hit from the directors of Little Miss Sunshine.

Thoughts

The filmmakers hit Oscar gold with Little Miss Sunshine, but I think that was a one-hit wonder.
