Toy Story 4 will dwarf all competitors this weekend and will likely top the $110 million opening weekend of the third film. The rebirth of Child’s Play will be lucky to make a quarter of that.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Nothing this filmmaker does anymore will excite me.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Sorry, but Luc Besson’s thrillers stopped thrilling me a long time ago.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The trailer is nothing but action, so if that is what you like then this film is for you. If it isn’t, then it’s probably a good one to skip.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): I’m fascinated to see how well they update Buddi and Chucky for a new generation.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Not sure we need a Chucky reboot, but if this is half as good as the original it will worth a look.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): I have never seen a film with Chucky and don’t plan to start now, but it is an effective trailer.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The second and third films are terrific. Can the fourth be the same?
Peter J. Patrick (PP): A sequel to an animatd feature that actually looks like it is somethign to look forward to.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The whole series of Toy Story films have been excellent, and this looks like it will continue that trend. The trailer had me laughing.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): An interesting concept that has a lot of promise per the trailer.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Quirky family film looks like fun, but why was it kept on the shelf for 3 years?
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It looks like fluff, but enjoyable fluff about a boy who thinks he is a Mongolian goatherder.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Another lackluster attempt to woo Christian audiences to the theater with more religious claptrap.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Dull looking inspirational drama centered around golf.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): This looks like a badly made film about golf and Christianity, and that feels like a bad combination.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): There’s not a lot in this trailer to make the film look that interesting.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Overly silly nostalgia romp through 1970s Australia doesn’t seem too appealing.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The trailer is both in bad taste and rather funny, so it will probably be worth seeing, if only to get a better idea of Aussie life.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The trailer doesn’t do a lot to make this seem like an engaging film.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): From Glasgow to Nashville with Jessie Buckley and Julie Walters looks like an event.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The early reviews are quite good, but the trailer does not inspire me to see it.
