It’ll be a tough weekend for Unfnished Business, which will be trying become a comedy hit, but struggling against the sci-fi spectacle of Chappie.
Individual Commentaries
Wesley Lovell: Chappie might be good, it might not. Neill Blomkamp didn’t do badly with Elysium, but it was a step down from District 9. Either way, the concept of Chappie might be interesting enough to make it succeed. The rest of this weekend’s releases aren’t taht interesting.
Peter J. Patrick: This is the first time this year in which there are actually going to be three new films I would go out to see.
Tripp Burton: A lot of genre fare this week that doesn’t really float my boat, but choose your own personal poison.
Thomas LaTourrette: Neill Blomkamp has had some interesting films, so Chappie may be worth seeing. I am not sure of the rest of the slate.
