It will be a competitive week, but Mr. Peabody and Sherman doesn’t have to appeal the very narrow demographic of fans 300: Rise of an Empire does. I could see a scenario where either come out on top.
Individual Commentaries
Wesley Lovell: The only interesting films this week come from the indie circles, Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel would be top on my list.
Peter J. Patrick: Things are picking up. We have our first major film of the year in The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Tripp Burton: Now that we are through Oscar season, it looks like our first possible real contender for next year’s awards is coming out. And I don’t mean Mr. Peabody.
