Disney’s live-action background re-telling of Sleeping Beauty should have little problem becoming the weekend’s top new release. Whether it can top X-Men: Days of Future Past in its second weekend is a big question.

Individual Commentaries

Wesley Lovell: I’m not particularly excited about any of this week’s releases. They could each have potential, but I’m not sure I’ll witness it.
Peter J. Patrick: A little of this, a little of that, nothing to get too excited about.
Tripp Burton: The Summer movies are here, and they look horrible.
Thomas LaTourrette: It could be a good week, or a very bad one. Disney has had mixed success with their live-action films of late, but Maleficent could work well. I like Seth MacFarlane, but West sounds more like an extended SNL sketch than a full film, though Ted was fun, so I hold out some hope for it.
