It may be a tight race for #1 next weekend between family vs. frat comedy Neighbors and the second weekend of The Amazing Spider-Man. The sequel isn’t doing as well as its predecessor, which could mean that the more fresh Neighbors squeaks by for a victory.

Individual Commentaries

Wesley Lovell: I’ll admit that Neighbors looks like it could be fun and against these other two wide releases, there’s really no contest. On the indie front, The Double is rocking a Terry Gilliam vibe that I’m digging.
Peter J. Patrick: Lots of low rent comedies and a retrograde cartoon – not an especially interesting week.
Tripp Burton: Another week of mediocre looking studio films. I think I’ll stay at home with Netflix.
Thomas LaTourrette: I’m not that excited by the films, but both The Neighbors and The Double have good word of mouth and could be worth seeing. Somehow yet another trip to Oz is hard to get excited by, there have been too many.
