The post-Thanksgiving weekend is always a quiet one where the turkey day champs make another weekend of lots of money. The only newcomer will be The Possession of Hannah Grace, a film that is way outside of its customary programming window, so it probably won’t top any of the major holdovers.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): While this looks to have some different elements to the standard possession film, it still has enough elements to not be of much interest to me.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Another lame-brain horror film not worth a second look.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It may be an effective horror film, but the trailer showed nothing new and did little to entice me to see it.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): A zombie musical sounds a bit out there, but the trailer makes me modestly interested in seeing it.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Uneasy mix of genres might hold some fascination, but overall looks like a waste of time.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): This actually looks like a lot of fun. I would not have thought of putting musical numbers in a zombie film, but the trailer did have me laughing. I hope it is that good.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The trailer looks hopelessly generic and that’s not a good thing.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Under the radar film looks like an acting showcase for Nick Nolte.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It might be a fine film, but it looks way too schmaltzy for me.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): It might be a bit unusual, but the trailer also makes it look a bit boring.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): With a trailer reminiscent of Pan’s Labyrinth, this looks fascinating.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The early reviews make it sound interesting, with a hint of Guillermo del Toro’s blending of fantasy and reality, but the trailer does not really show any of that.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Apart from the atypical protagonist, everything about this film looks typical.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Looks like another ho-hum martial arts thriller from South Korea.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): This looks like another revenge fantasy and martial arts film with little to recommend it unless you are the targeted audience.
