The Art Directors Guild have selected their winners. Two Oscar nominees prevailed while one went down to a non-nominee. Hidden Figures managed to best Hail, Caesar! in the Period category, which was a bit surprising since the Academy didn’t recognize it. Passeners was a little less surprising in Fantasy, which could mean it’s a stronger contender than expected. The only truly expected winner was Contemporary winner La La Land.
