Rating: C
Commentary: Is there some line in Matthew Fox’s contract that stipulates he (or at least someone in the film) must be seen in some type of silhouette with other content in his body? While not exactly the same as Fox’s Vantage Point poster, the resemblance is uncanny and not particularly original being that neither invented nor perfected the concept.
Rating: C-
Commentary: Before people start saying this is a Tyler Perry movie, they need to realize that he’s not behind the camera and, compared to his past output, this film seems nothing like his other films. Still, the question will be can he headline a film that he doesn’t also direct? Probably. Although the action in the trailer is rote and often lacks urgency, the excitement being depicted is reminiscent of all those films that have turned Liam Neeson into a major box office draw. The trailer does a good job playing up its weaknesses and that of Matthew Fox being an outright vicious person (but does the villain always have to be covered in tattoos? wait…I did say this was a rote exercise didn’t I?). This could very well be a hit, though not one I’m particularly interested in seeing.
