Rating: B Commentary: As much as I have said that I'm disappointed they are remaking a near-perfect film, this teaser almost convinces me that it may not be so bad. I'm still not enamored with Chloe Grace Moretz in the lead, but I am intrigued to see what Julianne Moore can do in Piper Laurie's role. |

Oscar Chances: The original was a strong Oscar contender with both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress nominations. An obvious ploy to grab money isn't likely to impress the Academy, but Moore is a past Oscar nominee and if she does a good enough job channeling Laurie, they could give her a token nomination, but that prospect seems unlikely. |
