	Rating: C Commentary: I’m a bit surprised they didn’t go with something more outlandish. there are some cheesy elements, but the overall design works without being oppressive.	Rating: C- / D+ Commentary: Although I saw the trailer labeled #2 first, this first trailer seems to be the release one I’ve seen in theaters. It isn’t hard to see Adam Sandler’s influence on the film, which doesn’t bode well for its execution. Sony Animation has trouble creating energetic and compellingly plotted films and this slapstick, pseudo-zany laugher should cater to those easily impressed, not fans of Pixar or late-era DreamWorks. / This teaser gives almost no information about the plot apart form shallow name dropping of famous monsters that you may meet in the film.

Oscar Chances: There’s a heavy raft of animated films headed to theaters this fall and with the ones we’ve already seen, I think this one will have a tough time scooting past the others for a nomination.
