What to See: Jun. 29-Jul. 2, 2012

On Sundays, we list the weekend's upcoming films along with previews of trailers and posters. On Wednesdays, we preview all of the upcoming new wide and limited releases hitting the theaters the coming weekend. On Fridays, we'll now tell you what you should see. We pose two questions each week to our contributors and their responses are posted below.

Wesley Lovell

1. Which of the four new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Of all of these films, Ted seems like the right fit for my recent moods.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Take That Waltz is the film I'm most looking forward to of this week's new releases.

Peter J. Patrick

1. Which of the four new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
People Like Us looks like the one to see if you want to avoid the crowds and the in-your-face raunchiness of the week's other major releases.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Beasts of the Southern Wild looks like an absolute charmer with 8 year-old Quvenzhané Wallis (five when she was chosen for the part; six when she filmed it) already being talked about as a Best Acress front-runner.

Tripp Burton

1. Which of the four new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
None of these are my cup of tea, but if one of them appeals to you, they should be harmless versions of their genres.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
I loved Away from Her, so I am excited about Take This Waltz the most.
