From IMDb: “In 1979, an Indian family moves to America with hopes of living the American Dream. While their 10-year-old boy Smith falls head-over-heels for the girl next door, his desire to become a “good old boy” propels him further away from his family’s ideals than ever before.”

Review: (#1) This is certainly a cheesy option, but that plays well with the film’s premise, especially the reflection in the protagonist’s glasses. (#2) The intense color scheme differentiates the design from the myriad others out there, but the bland background, disparate elements, and overall lack of cohesive style keep it from being truly distinctive.

Trailer Rating: C

Review: The comedic elements of the trailer help alleviate some of the concern that the film won’t be terribly engaging. However, without an emotional connection, the audience won’t likely turn up.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
