Poster: C

Review: I hate to think this is going to be boilerplate design for music documentaries, but this is the second poster I can remember that placed a piece of musical paraphernalia on the ground next to a lightly-descript wall with manuscript writing. It’s not a suitable trend to be started.

Trailer: B

Review: The appearance of legendary artists makes this a bit more fascinating than your standard music documentaries, but the formula and format is entirely old-hat. There are only so many ways you can tweak a documentary style, but trailers have much more leniency in design. This one doesn’t reinvent the wheel.

Oscar Prospects:

There have been a ton of music documentaries in recent years and few of them have been successful with the Academy.
