Review: (#1) It’s a poster that looks like it was designed for a direct-to-video effort and considering the first film looked like a direct-to-video effort, this look isn’t particularly surprising. (#2-#9) These character posters have modestly interesting taglines, strong poses for many, but horrendously dull monochromatic backdrops. They work, but not well.

(#10) Everyone present for the perfunctory animated film poster image. Lots of thematic and story elements bunched together in a colorful display. It’s not inventive and it’s not exciting, but it is effective. (#11) The mice get angrier as they fade into the distance, but that’s not what makes this poster interesting. It probably is because there’s nothing terribly exciting about it otherwise.

Trailer Rating: C / C / C+

Review: (#1 & #2) There are a few differences between the first two trailers, but not enough to make them noteworthy in and of themselves. They are designed to appeal to fans of the original and few else.

(#3) The third trailer, though introduces Jackie Chan and a platoon of don’t-say-cute little mice that will help the protagonists take on the mayor. This trailer piles on the adorable in a way that makes it clear the producers hope to draw in those who never saw the original.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
