The horror rebirth of the Ring franchise should be able to top the box office, but The Space Between Us could draw enough teens to the theater to give it a run for its money.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): I had no interest in the first film, so this third one won’t be on my list of films to see.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Another week, another dopey horror movie. No thanks.
Tripp Burton (TB): I have not been a fan of the Ring horror series, so this isn’t exciting me much.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): It looks terribly cheesy, but there are a few decent actors in the cast that could make it worth it.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Coming-of-age sci-fi romance looks slight, but enjoyable.
Tripp Burton (TB): This sounds like an intriguing premise, but the trailer doesn’t seem too promising.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Robert De Niro can be quite funny if given the right material. I’m not so sure this is the right material.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Another De Niro turkey that bombed in its Oscar qualifying run in N.Y. and L.A. in December.
Tripp Burton (TB): A fantastic cast, but this looks like it could fall flat very easily.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): I’m not generally a big fan of Asian comedy cinema, but this film doesn’t look terrible.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): This tiresome looking South Korean action-comedy doesn’t interest me at all.
Tripp Burton (TB): This looks bland.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): A twisty horror film that doesn’t look remotely enticing.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Slightly more interesting looking horror film than the other one opening this week.
Tripp Burton (TB): This is far from my cup of tea.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): There might be something worth seeing in this, but the trailer doesn’t do a good job of presenting that.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Soulful looking revenge drama that has been kicking around film festivals for two years could be worth waiting for.
Tripp Burton (TB): This is not my sort of thing, but it looks like it could be promising.

Peter J. Patrick (PP): Culture-clash comedy looks like it could be fun.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): It looks bizarre enough to be compelling, but also has potential to be rather dumb.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Polish musical horror-comedy looks interesting, but could be a mixture of too many genres.
Tripp Burton (TB): I like bizarre movies, but this could be too much for me.
