While Coco and Jane make their push towards inevitable wins, the win of The Shape of Water puts a damper on talk of films like Get Out, Lady Bird, or Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri being the frontrunner. This will be a huge get for this film. While it can’t win at the Screen Actors Guild tomorrow night, this shows that the PGA can recognize R-rated films, which is the biggest potential stumbling block for Guillermo del Toro’s film.
