Today was rather slow, which I’m thankful for. Here are the two new trailers for The Lincoln Lawyer and Source Code and a new poster for From Prada to Nada.

SOURCE CODE

Plot Summary: Forced to relive the last 8 minutes of another man’s life, one man must make decisions that may alter the past.
Release Date: April 15, 2011

Trailer

Poster

Rating: B
Commentary: The concept is a bit far-fetched, but what good summer blockbuster isn’t a bit off its rocker. This one looks mildly entertaining, which is probably all it has been designed for.
Rating: None
Commentary: I don’t review placeholders.
Trailer Link: Apple Trailers
Oscar Chances: Maybe some tech awards like Visual Effects or the sound awards, but I doubt it will be remembered.

THE LINCOLN LAWYER

Plot Summary: Accused of a crime he claims he didn’t commit, a high-priced lawyer agrees to take the case but may have to uncover nasty secrets in order to win.
Release Date: March 18, 2011

Trailer

Poster

Rating: C
Commentary: Such a terrific cast for a film that looks like an absolute chore. The trailer doesn’t give the audience any reason to care about the characters, which won’t help it at the box office much.
Rating: None
Commentary: None available.

Oscar Chances: None.

FROM PRADA TO NADA,poster

Plot Summary: Two wealthy girls are thrown into poverty when their father dies and they discover he was in bankruptcy and will have to move to East Los Angeles to live.
Release Date: January 28, 2011

Trailer

Poster

Previous Preview:
From Prada to Nada
Rating: C-
Commentary: Rudimentary is the best term for this type of poster. It’s not interesting. It’s not evocative. It simply exists. That the concept of the film itself isn’t that funny doesn’t really bolster the poster’s defenses.
