ThoughtsWith a cast like this, it should be interesting, but with Oscar buzz dying, I wonder if the film is going to be any good after all. |
ThoughtsAfter Spanglish, a James L. Brooks film would have to receive unanimous raves to get me anywhere near it. This one sounds like another meandering mess. |
ThoughtsJames L. Brooks hasn’t had a successful film in over 20 years, but I’ll hold out a little hope for this. |
ThoughtsJames L. Brooks hasn’t been much of an Oscar threat in over a decade, and this routine looking romantic comedy couldn’t even score a nomination from the star-whoring Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The Oscars won’t be calling either. It might be a success at the box-office though. |

ThoughtsI don’t necessarily think it’s going to be that good, but I have a friend who’s dying to see it, so we’ll probably catch it this weekend anyway. |
ThoughtsI fell asleep on the original, don’t think there would be anything in this to keep me awake. |
ThoughtsThe visual effects look really neat. |
ThoughtsIt looks like a really fun sci-fi actioner, and Jeff Bridges is always a nice presence in any film. Although I’m not really a fan of the original film, I have high hopes for the sequel. |

ThoughtsI think I might require a lobotomy if I were to find this even remotely interesting. |
ThoughtsNot my cup of tea. |
ThoughtsCan’t anyone come up with an original idea any more? |
ThoughtsIf it’s possible for a movie to look worse than “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, it’s this. Unfortunately, I think this will attract a similar audience and possibly generate the same kind of success at the box-office. |

ThoughtsThis looks like a standard smug Kevin Spacey film. |
ThoughtsJack Abramoff may be yesterday’s news but Congressional lobbyists are still a danger worth exposing. |
ThoughtsLooks like it could be a lot of fun, if Kevin Spacey can control himself. |
ThoughtsDon’t care about this one whatsoever. |

ThoughtsIt has strong Oscar buzz, which puts it right on the radar for end-of-year viewing. |
ThoughtsNicole Kidman is one of the year’s front-runners for Best Actress and Aaron Eckhart and Dianne Wiest are also major contenders for acting prizes. |
ThoughtsA phenomenal play that looks to translate gorgeously onto film. |
ThoughtsNicole Kidman, Aaron Eckhart, and Dianne Wiest are all contenders, but I’m not really in a huge rush to see it. Another movie I can wait to see on Blu-ray. |
|
How Do You Know: No one agrees on whether to see the film (33%), but we believe it might be a minor Oscar contender (67%).
Tron Legacy: More disagreement on viewing (33%) and another near agreement on contention (67%).
Yogi Bear: We won’t be watching (100%) and Oscar won’t either (100%).
Casino Jack: A third split (33%) but agreement in the opposite direction of no Oscars (67%).
Rabbit Hole: A perfect score: It’s a Must See (100%) and Major Oscar contender (100%).
