Below are the nominees for the Writers Guild of America. This precursor is used to predict the Original and Adapted Screenplay category nominees. This group often has the most controversy surrounding its omissions. The WGA rules prohibit films from being nominated if they are not guild signatories. Therefor films like this year’s Toy Story 3, The King’s Speech and others are not eligible for these awards. The Documentary Screenplay category has no Oscar correlation.
