Looking at the Weekend: January 14-16, 2011

A large number of limited releases come out this week, seven in all, and will be joined by two wide releases.

Consensus

Below is a list of what we have come to a general consensus on. The number in parens represents the percentage of our contributors who agree with the statement.

The Dilemma: We are mostly not interested (67%) but we’re completely certain no Oscars (100%).
The Green Hornet: Another mostly against (67%) and another unified front against Oscars (100%).
Barney’s Version: Time for a Yes/No/Maybe Split (3%) and a Probably Not on the Oscar chances (67%).
Every Day: It’s a DVD option (67%), but not an Oscar contender (100%).
The Heart Specialist: Mostly no sir (67%), Oscar won’t look closer (100%).
Ong Bak 3: Not on our agenda (100%) and not on Oscar’s (100%).
Plastic Planet: Split towards “Won’t See” (67%) but unified against its Oscar prospects (100%).
A Somewhat Gentle Man: Split uniformly in our desire to see the film (33%) but we’re agreed it’s not an Oscar contender (100%).
