With two awards shows going this weekend (Friday are the Broadcast Film Critics Association’s Critics’ Choice Awards and Sunday are the Golden Globe Awards), I figured I should get my predictions updated beforehand (and since it’s been almost a month since I last updated them).

I haven’t changed a heck of a lot, but the most important change is shifting Hailee Steinfeld to Lead Actress. I had been a bit skeptical about Michelle Williams, largely because she has gotten acclaim before only to be left out at the last minute. And with the buzz that Hailee could benefit from a Keisha Castle-Hughes type lead placement campaign, I found the right person to replace Williams. Let’s remember that Keisha Castle-Hughes was nominated in Support at the SAG Awards because of studio placement, but the Academy saw through the young-actor-in-support category fraud and put her into Lead where she belonged (regarding category placement). The Academy could very well do the same with Steinfeld and it makes a good deal of sense to me. Replacing Steinfeld in Support in my predictions is Mila Kunis who may get carried in with the sweep and is the most likely beneficiary of a shift to lead by Steinfeld.

Other prediction changes are less significant, but please feel free to check them out at the link below (or in the sidebar when this article gets displaced).
