What an awful set of wide releases. Since I have choose, I go with an actor with better potential: Anthony Hopkins over Jason Statham in The Rite.
2. Which of the four new limited releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Well, obviously the lone Oscar nominee in the list rates my recommendation: Biutiful.

The Mechanic for the cast, especially Ben Foster, but only if I had nothing else to do.

Biutiful, because it’s an Oscar contender.

The Rite looks like the more successful genre piece.

Biutiful has the critics and Oscars behind it, Kaboom has some good pedigree, but check out the other 3 if they are in your wheelhouse.
